Hello to Moderators and Fellow Piano Society Members, My second installment for solo piano is Witches' Dance by American composer Edward MacDowell, written in 1884. This is the second of "Two Fantastic Pieces", the first of which was entitled "A Legend". Witches' Dance is written in B Minor, and is testimony that not all pieces written in minor tonality need to sound sad, just as not all pieces written in so-called major tonality need to sound happy. My performance of this piece uses the softer registers of the piano, although it certainly does grow to ff in spots. Enjoy. Cheers, Joe <jcfeli>
