I just played through this piece and practically started crying by the time I reached the end. It is so sad!!! Has anyone else ever played this?

I have this piece in a book of romantic piano music, and there is no opus number but there is something else: KK Anh. Ib/7. I don't know what that means and couldn't find this waltz on any of the Chopin works lists.

Anyway, it's not a difficult piece but it sure makes me think that Chopin was having a bad, sad, melancholy day when he wrote it.

Okay, I have to go play something happy, now, to get out of this mood.

you're right, it is too sad! at least it's pretty. it just doesn't sound like a chopinesque waltz, i'm beginning to doubt its authenticity. i wish that that fire in 1863 hadnt happened - we'd have so many more chopin waltzes! theyre my fav of his pieces by far. any other thoughts on this waltz?

If you look down a little under the Repertoire category, there is more about this piece under the subject title, hmm.. mess up in the sheet music of a chopin waltz?

Which waltz? What key is it in and what are the first few notes? I'm not clear as to which waltz you refer.

If you check under "Publications" at the new Piano Society site, I have published a brief research regarding Chopin's waltzes. The reason was that the matter was rather confusing. Many do not know of waltz no.18, 19 & 20 and for this specific reason, I published sheet music for free including example recordings of these waltzes on the site.

The score for the walzes 18,19,20 is not anymore available here for download?

I have neither found it in Robert's great article about Chopin's walzes nor below the pianist/Chopin/ walz folder?

Could please anyone provide a link to those walzes or sent a pmail to me with the score?

Thanks in advance! A friend of mine likes to perform all !!! Chopin walzes on one evening (he plays always from memory!), and I like to put some more work on his piano's desk for this task. If he is able to play the 14 or 15 official walzes, why not 20? :D

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Mindenblues,
You're right. I can't find it either. If nobody comes up with the link soon, I can scan my copy and send it to you.
