As the title suggests, me playing Chopin's 3rd Scherzo in C# minor. Feedback? Chopin - Op.39, Scherzo no.3 in C-sharp minor
Excellently played! I also see to my delight that you are a fellow logician! Did you by any chance have me in mind when you posted those two cross-referential sentences? Raymond
Haha well thank you but what do you mean by "logician"? (ahh too many smileys!  )
Ah, I see what you mean now! My bad I did not indeed have you in mind... I'm glad you liked it though  I just always like making that my signature hehe
Reminds me of your apparent colleague (or perhaps student)'s book, GEB. By the way, Raymond, I've never read any of your books, but then, I had a hard enough time trying to read GEB, so I probably wouldn't do any better with yours. It's extremely fascinating stuff, but for the most part, way over my head.
Hi and Welcome! This is my favorite Scherzo. Well played. A few slips here and there but hardly noticeable and this sounds like a live recording. If you want to become a member, you can email your bio and picture to us or put it right up here in this thread.
Thanks for the welcomes guys! Do I write my own bio, and if so, what questions do I answer/what form do I write it in etc? Anyway, this is one of my favourites too... It would be so hard to choose a favourite though I LOVE the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th ones! And yes, this was a live recording. I'm about to convert the 2 other files from the same recital to mp3 (Debussy's Fireworks prelude and the last movement from Prokofiev's 6th sonata) and post them here too I went ahead and attached a picture of myself here... (it's called "cabassi" because it was actually a picture of me with Davide Cabassi when I saw him night before last, but I cropped him out )
Well played, though, I like this Scherzo to be more violent especially in the octave "runs". But overall it is well played
Yes! Well  done, indeed! Ain't logic grand :?:    Glad to be in your company, D2nd! Pete
You write your own bio. Everyone's biography style is very different, so this is just your own thing. Look at some of the ones here for examples.
Alright. Here's a bio for you then: --- Austin Kendrick started taking piano lessons when he was 6 years old, after his sister started and he thought it looked like fun. He enjoys playing the piano by himself, but also loves playing duets with his sister. Austin has taken lessons from many different teachers due to the fact that his family traveled a lot when he was younger. He believes this has helped his playing, because each teacher tends to focus on one thing, and has their own teaching "style". He's now been taking lessons from a professor at a local college for 3 years (since he was 13), and plans to continue taking lessons from this teacher until he graduates from high school. Music is life for Austin; he can't imagine living without it. He says that a lot of times there are feelings that are far too deep for words to express, and that's where music comes into play. Austin has 2 more years of high school left, and plans to major in a music related degree once he's in college to pursue a career in the music field later in life. --- Will this work?
A VERY sensitive pianist! Once I attended a recital by him in Italy, but now he plays often in the USA, after the boost from being a finalist at the Van Cliburn 2005 Piano Competition.
Yes, he is indeed very sensitive. I LOVE his playing (his Appassionata at the Cliburn was so incredible)... he's pretty much my hero
D2nd , I just listened to your playing...well done and it touches my heart and just shows you that somepeople out there are PLAYED with musical feelings.... All artist can come from anyway.... Welcome to PS, you are just as bad as me -wear glasses.
Yep, welcome to PA. You are one Bloody Talented Sod Great performance of the Scherzo, I especially liked the rippling cascades in the quiet middle section. The outer sections are a bit barnstorming, very much an audacious young man's approach, maybe you are pressing things just a little too hard here. But good it is.
That's what my teacher said too, about the opening and when it comes back... maybe I'll try to fix this when I come back to it in a month for competitions...
