As a polish man, I'm proud of Chopin, that's obvious. But only a couple of people know something about Chopin's method! I want to really recommend this site: http://www.pianoeu.com Go there, and study!
To that "Chopin method": It refers to Chopins sketches for a book for piano playing, as well as to the Neuhaus book "The art of piano playing". I have read both, the sketches and the Neuhaus book. The quotation "in the immensity of sounds we will find a region ..." what the author stresses numerous times, he has completely put out of context and gave it another meaning. This quotation is one point of several, which Chopin listed it the sketches. If you read the other points before and after that you will find that Chopin refers the frequency range in the middle of a keyboard at which notes are best perceptible. In the sketches it does not deals in that context, instead with the dynamic range of a note, what is just a completely other thing So, I have read that internet article about the interpretation of that "Chopin method", playing in the zone, blablabla, already some times ago but I think the author completely changed the meaning of Chopins words into something else. Also the connection to the Neuhaus book and Chopin sketch is so loosely, that one cannot speak from the "Chopin&Neuhaus method". The only thing is that indeed it seems useful to me to find a dynamic range of comfort while playing, more on the soft side, in order to be able to add dynamics from that point in both directions, soft and loud. That's maybe a point in the article, but not the referring to Chopins sketches or the Neuhaus book.
I read through this too but 'lost it' very quickly because there were so many words that gave me no information whatsoever. I was looking for something really useful here, but found nothing.
