I cannot find any decent recordings of the Chopin Concertos online! I want them both on one CD (am I being too picky?), and I want it to be good! I found a recording of Martha Argerich doing both of them on one CD, but the sound quality was horrible. I was hoping it was just Amazon's player, but the customer reviews indicated that it was the actual sound quality of the CD.

Does anyone know where I can get a decent recording of both of them? Heh...I would even be most willing to trade anything by Chopin for solo piano, if you can handle Ashkenazy. :) (Was it bad to say that on here? It's not my fault I can't find a good recording!)

Okay, I am so excited! I found a CD with both Concertos, performed by Krystian Zimerman and the Polish Festival Orchestra. I listened to samples, and I am very impressed with the little they allowed me to listen to - very much a different approach from the norm. The PFO was apparently formed solely for the purpose of playing Chopin's Concertos for the 150th anniversary of his death, which is quite interesting. I will let you know my general overall impression when the CD comes in. :)

I'm really enjoying the Zimerman/PFO recording. There are a few nitpicks I have about it, but overall, it's the best recording I've ever heard of the Concertos.

I also bought some of Chopin's chamber music, with Ax and Ma, but I'm too busy falling in love with the Concertos all over again to fall in love with the chamber music for the first time. :)
