Here is the last piece from the Pensees lyriques. This one, No. 4, is actually my favorite even though there are a couple of spots that could use a little more practice. I'm just excited about posting a COMPLETE SET as I don't do that very often. This one has a lot of dynamic contrast so listen carefully for the soft parts. Ear phones may help hear them. I wanted to amplify them to make them more audible, but then the loud parts clip. So, I guess "you can't win fer losin'," as they say. I hope it's okay.

    Bortkiewicz - Pensées Lyriques Op. 11, No. 4 in E major ( 5:10 )

    Hi John,

Bravo! What a lovely piece, isn't it? And very well played too. Even though many of Bortkiewicz's scores were lost during WWII, we're fortunate that so large a number survived. And no matter where we delve into it, there are gems waiting to be rediscovered and played as if for the first time. It's very easy to become hooked on this music, don't you agree?

Good job! I'm going to listen to your recording again tomorrow.

I plan to continue recording Bortkiewicz. It's an amazing musical journey.

Very good job John. The turbulent middle section is convincingly done, seems like your RH is doing fine at the moment.

This one is up the site and you have a CS, congratulations ! Please check if everything is ok.

I capped off my work here this morning by listening to your recording here, John. Wow - this is really nice. I so much enjoyed it. Did you put the recorder closer to the piano? Sounds good! My only little nitpick is that I wish you would have held out the final chord just a bit longer. Seems that the file cuts off too abruptly.

Congratulations on the CS. And you got a pretty table right away, too!

Thanks for listening and commenting. For some reason it feels good to have a complete set. I only have a very few of them. I'm no Chris Breemer! I made a playlist with this set, and it's nice to listen to one after the other. Each one is so very different almost as if it were written by a different composer. I hear the influence of various romantic composers in each piece. Interesting. :)

My RH is a little better since I haven't used it at all for a couple of weeks or more. However, I'm still planning on surgery on Oct. 21. I can't wait to have my "old hands" back. I just hope it happens.
