I'm bored today and don’t feel like working on any of my regular projects. But I happened to notice that April 1st is just around the corner. April Fool’s Day is something I look forward to, as I love a good practical joke and have played many of them on my family since I was a kid. So…combining everything together, I thought I would brainstorm some jokes to play on someone like a… pianist, and maybe use the material for a writing project I’m doing, or maybe actually play one of the jokes on some unsuspecting someone. Here’s what I’ve got so far. ( If any of you get to Chicago, let me know and we can try out any of these together. It’s much more fun to have a ‘partner in crime’.) Let’s see…we can go to a club, lounge, or piano bar, sneak up behind the pianist and tickle him/her. Or… shove the pianist aside and take over playing. Or…we can go to a department store, you know, the fancy kind with a pianist playing nice music - we can hide behind a stand of clothes and throw paper airplanes at the pianist. Or…we can suddenly walk over to the piano and lie down underneath it. Or…we could go back to the piano bar, close the piano lid suddenly, climb on top, and start dancing. Or…sneak up on the far end of a grand piano when someone’s playing it and gradually roll it away. I think I have seen that somewhere, some old television show. Cracks me up just thinking about it. Or…that’s all I can think of right now. Anyone have any more ideas?
