    Hi everyone,

I would like to submit three more works today:

    Beethoven German Dances no. 1, 2 and 4 Woo13.

I've discovered these while looking for pieces for my students to play and must say that it is quite refreshing works from Beethoven apart from the standard repertoire from Beethoven that I am used to.

I haven't heard any recordings of these works before I learned them so I am interpreting completely in the dark.

I will be completing the whole suite that contains 12 dances.

Let me know what you think.

    Kind Regards,
    Werner

    Beethoven - German Dance, WOO13, No. 1 (1:05)
    Beethoven - German Dance, WOO13, No. 2 (1:29)
    Beethoven - German Dance, WOO13, No. 4 (1:32)
    Beethoven - German Dance, WOO13, No. 5 (2:19)

These are very nice little Beethoven ditties and I think you play them to perfection. Very good recordings, and the digital instrument sounds entirely palatable (which is not always so with digital instruments alas).

It seems time to get you hosted as a PS pianist, if you want that. We'll require a biography and photo.

    Thank you Chris.

It would be an honor to become part of the community.

I will send a biography over the weekend.

First, I'm off to give lessons.

    Thanx again.

    Kind Regards,
    Werner Richards

    Ok Werner, and welcome. Note that we expect some form of commitment from new members;

    - more or less regular (if not necessarily frequent) submissions
    - participation on the forum, in the sense of giving feedback to others

We have seen too many people sign up, submit some recordings, say thank you (or not) for the free publicity, and disappear forever.

Beethoven - German Dances no. 5 WOO13, Biography and Picture

    Hi Chris,

Here is my biography and picture as requested. I have also added the 5th German Dance as well.

I hope I got the tagging right.

    Kind Regards,
    Werner Richards

    Werner Richards
Music is a word that is very dear to me. It is the language I came to know before I could speak. Since I was born, I have been exposed to all sorts of music. I grew up in a family where music was our primary source of nourishment. It fed us through difficult times and then, some more difficult times. Put simply, music is my core sustenance.
After studying engineering for 2 years after school, my family heritage called me back to music and I went on to study a B. Mus degree where I was mentored by Dr. Bernarda Vorster and later, Mr. Dana Cilliers. They helped shape me into the musician I am today. After University I started a recording and teaching studio that brings everlasting joy to my life as well as my students and clients.
I believe in a holistic approach to music, meaning that I consider all elements of music to be equally important when learning and performing a piece. I always try to bring a fresh approach to any work I perform even though it might be unconventional – this is what makes the term amateur, or music lover so flexible and open.
I have a saying: I do what I do. It is not much, but it is something and therein a legacy is born. Music and sound (in any form) has always been my passion. It is my space of expression. It is where I feel home.

I moved your new post with bio and no.5 into this one.
You are now on the site with all your recordings - please check if all is ok. Adding a new artist requires quite some work and a mistake is easily made.
I took the liberty of reducing the color saturation of your photo, which was unpleasantly crimson. Now it looks a bit less as if you've just applied a new lipstick ;-)

    Very good, Werner.
I'm unfamiliar with these, and I notice that these are the Society's first recordings of them, so you've successfully pushed the envelope.

Rhythmically very sound, and the playing is very even. The accuracy is also commendable, particularly in our first recording of a piece.

Although I'm not looking for Sturm und Drang in a genre like this, I think the digital sound is not as full-bodied as the acoustical, and the overall impression a little more subdued than I would like. This does not detract much from the technical excellence of the recording, though.

BTW: I listen through speakers, and it can across very well.

BTW: My MP3 player kept displaying the word "Albeniz". Something overlooked in editing the tags??

Tags: Yes, you have the Composer=Albeniz.
The first time I tried to look, my editor crashed, which is why I left the question unanswered. But the 2nd look was successful.

My fault. I'm re-uploading the corrected versions.
