A really great recording as usual and I have added the recordings and Samuel Barber to the site. "The American composer" when it comes to classical music. At least how I see it (I do not really count Joplin).

The sonata Op.6 was composed in between June and December of 1932 during a trip to Europe as Barber was finishing his studies at the Curtis Institute of Music. It was premiered in March of 1933 with the composer at the piano and his friend and colleague Orlando Cole as cellist, at a concert of the League of Composers in New York City.

Barber was often referred to as neo-romatic and is most famous for his Adagio string Quartet in B major, the second movement of which he would arrange for string orchestra as his Adagio for Strings. This piece has remained popular to this day, being used in state funerals and other public memorial services in the United States since the death of Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

    Dear Robert,

Thank you once more for adding Samuel Barber's Cello Sonata on site,

I noticed that you didn't add Brahms Piano Quartet op.25 to the site http://pianosociety.com/cms/index.php?section=916

In your free time I hope you can add it with great thanks.

    Best wishes
    Setrak
