I´m coming nearer to the completion of book II of WTC, there "only" are five preludes and fugues to go, phew.
For some private reasons I had to be off for a longer period, but I will continue the completion of WTC II has I have planed step by step.
The prelude in a-major for me has a blightful, but more calm and inner character. It´s inspired by a continuous flow in triplets and its subject wanders through every voice like it is typical in Bachs preludes.
The fugue for me is a bit more exoteric, but blightful, too. The subject has a certain distribution of stress - or should the right word be "tension"? - (german: Spannungsverlauf): after two "start-ups" (Anläufe) beginning from the tonica, it´s coming to its highpoint, and after this highpoint the melody goes down quite immediately to the third. I´m trying to bring out this structural idea of the composition and to voice out the theme as always.
I hope, you can enjoy this new recording made on my freshly tuned grand.

    Hello Andreas,

I really enjoyed hearing this prelude and fugue. Thanks for your description of the structure. I believe that your analysis had much to do with your expressive tone production throughout the piece.

You're getting closer to concluding the WTC II!

    David

    Dear David,
thank you for your appreciated comment and praise and sorry for my quite late response. I'm glad you can hear the structure in my interpretation, because this is my intention. Especially the fugue has some nice moments of voicing, and its not so easy to get out the subject in the middle voices. We have final exams at school in this moment, that's why I'm quite busy. I will listen to your new submission as soon as possible.

    Kind regards
    Andreas
