This is just as good as, if not better than, Murray Perahia.

Your touch, your execution, the clarity.....wonderful.

I give you a standing ovation Mr. Setrakian!

Absolute world class ! Whether or not this is 'better' than Perahia is a moot point, at this level of music making these comparisons largely stop making sense. I would say that Perahia probably has the better orchestra... and the better recording. But as for the actual playing, there is not all that much difference in quality.

In the first movement the balance is heavily towards the piano, and the orchestra is heard as if in the background. This seems to be better in the second and final movements. The final goes at a terrific lick (I would have liked it just a little more relaxed, but that can be personal). A bit of a shame that the sound is rather abruptly chopped off at the end. And it could be that the 128Kbps compression is a bit too strong to capture all the detail - but I understand it already takes a long time to upload for you, and perhaps the difference would not be significant.

Another great performance. Thank you very much for enriching our catalog with this !

Listening to the first movement, I'd join the other Bravo postings. Thanks for sharing your recordings here! Indeed, the piano-orchestra volume is quite of out balance in the recording, but after all, for a piano forum it's not the worst thing to hear the piano well :)

Once more thank you, I agree that for uploading 128Kbps with very slow internet can change of quality of the sound, remember all my recordings are recorded in Beirut poor studios, not in Europe or USA.

I am happy to add my all repertoire here in PianoSociety Home.

I have noticed that Bach,Piano Concerto No.1 in D minor BWV 1052 is not added in the site till now, I wonder why.

Best wishes to all PianoSociety Composers and Pianists, also to technical team.

The reason why is this... I thought Robert had already put them up, and he probably was thinking I had done it. While in fact both of us either forgot or had no time yet (keep in mind we have day jobs and families, and also try to play some piano ourselves).
I am uploading them right now and will create the page tomorrow.

Sorry, I was going to but I have still not been able to listen to this recording but after what I have read, it should be something special. Terrible busy time at work right now and that is why.

This concerto is so powerful and so much Bach really. First impression I remember was when Gould played it and even though it cannot compare to that (what can?!), this is really really good!!! I have not heard Murray's recording but it is probably extremely good as well. Murray usually make very good recordings and seem to have a depth and understanding that I want more of today. But back to Mr. Setrakian. It leaves very little to wish for, perhaps a little more drama and passion here and there but I think mostly of the orchestra when I write this as the piano playing is extremely well done. Not sure what to add more than that we are proud to host this legendary work of Bach!
