I recorded this bouncy little fugue today. Made the mistake of recording it before checking YouTube for a recording... So it turns out there are a couple of read errors (wrong accidentals, as usual) and I'll have to re-record it. Ah well, that's life. Bach - BWV 896 - Fugue in A major ( 2:11 ) But more importantly, there seems to be a prelude BWV 896 going with this. It is probably spurious, i.e. not by Bach. As I am a completist, I need to record it :!: I haven't got the score of it and can't find it anywhere on the web. Can somebody can help me out with the score of the prelude BWV 896 ? I would be much obliged.
hi, Chris! nice fugue, which could have been "inspired" by the G major menuet from Anna Magdalena's Notebook. (the word "inspired" is appropriate, if this is not Bach's own composition)
That´s a very nice and blitheful fugue and splendidly played by you! I followed with the score from imslp.org and I couldn´t discover any read-error. Alas, I also couldn´t find the score of the prelude neither on the internet nor do I possess it. But I will look around further. My only nitpicking is, that there was one little slip and you do use too much pedal at some places (during runs) for my taste. Bravo, great job, and thank you for sharing.
Thanks ! I was not aware of a slip but it's possible. I need to redo this anyway because of the read errors (strange you did not spot them). Seems my pedal foot got the better of me again then, it's an automatic thing that kicks in when I don't feel completely comfortable with a run. I'll need to take better control of that, tie my right foot to the bench or something That prelude is nothing special and probably not even by Bach. But I must have it all the same. One of the volumes in the Baerenreiter complete edition seems to have it. Maybe someone out there has that volume and would be kind enough to scan these pages.
Please, compare with the score of imslp.org. There are no read-errors, I couldn´t even recognize, though I have listened twice to it. Why so complicated, do you have an axe? (Whew, very mad black humour, isn´t it? ) Oh, would be so nice to possess this Bärenreiter complete edition. I should play in the lottery.
But there are. In bar 3 I play D# and in bar 29 I play A#. THis is why I need to listen to others first, before recording, because I hear these things right away. I thought about that. But truth told, I am a bit of a crybaby Plus, I might come to regret it when I play Chopin again, or want to go running
Eventually,I get it.If u need this score of prelude, please send an email to 904468003@qq.com,I will reply.
