Wow, great job! There were a few slips in the nasty sections, but hardly anything to be ashamed of. 8) And it's live!
A wonderful and full-blooded performance, iliaul. Whatever tiny slips there were did not bother me in the least. Not sure if you are already a pianist on the site ? I guess not, though I seem to remember your login name somehow. PLease provide your bio and photo, and we'll give you a place with this splendid recording.
That is indeed a very nice recording. Please submit your biography and we will be happy to put it up along with this beautiful recording.
Oh, Bravo!!!! That was just plum good!! Welcome to the Society and keep on posting!! Hmm, I may have to look into this chopin guy some more!
A good performance! You do much rubati in all parts, in the slower A-part and the faster B-part with their variations. At the begining of the first B-part I missed two of the dotted notes in the RH. At the end of the second B-part (B´) you do a big ritardando at the place of the deep e-octave and then you accelerate again. Also in the Coda there are big ritardandi and accelerandi. These rubati are a possibility (and a matter of taste), in every case they make the piece easier to play. (I recorded this piece for this site, too, and I did not make so much differences in tempo, but - as I said - this is absolutely a matter of taste.) Welcome to Pianosociety!
To iliaul A moving interpretation of the second ballad by Fr.Chopin. This ballad truly tells a story. The first part reminds me of a charming, innocent little girl; the following presto con fuoco suddenly frightens her to death so that she tries to escape in the utmost panic. I see this quite clearly in my imagination and I hardly dare continue on this path of interpretation . . . . . . Your performance is really brilliant in the manner of a great virtuoso with a breath taking agitato in the end.
Hi iliaul, I enjoyed your playing of this ballade tremendously. Your performance was outstanding! And let me add a warm welcome to Piano Society. David
