I didn't think this would fit in the audition room. It's not exactly 'classical' anymore.

This is my new way of playing this Ballade. I don't get nervous or tense like I do with the 'real' one.

Techneut, I can almost see/feel you shaking your fists at me right now. :)

I can see Mr. Chris doing a lot more than shaking his fists! I see him punching his speakers and screaming (in Dutch) words not commonly used.

Interesting way of playing it. It "works" but I fear that it sorta kills the true meaning behind the piece.

This is not at all a bad thing to do. Just the opposite! Experimenting with different variations of the same piece can break up the practice and performance doldrums. This recording is unusually artistic, albeit an abstract of the original. I dare say, Chopin would approve. Beautiful.

I do this sort of thing all the time! This morning I played Chopin's Etude 10/7 about ten different ways; when I returned to the standard performance, it was as though my ears were hearing it in a fresh, new light.

Try this one; play the melody of the ballade in the left hand and accopm. in the right.

Well we all know Chopin was a great jazz lover, so I am sure he would not have minded

In fact this is a nice idiomatic jazzy thingy, using a theme that is well suited for it. You play it with a good touch and feeling, and I have no quibble with this (in fact I rather like this kind of 'jazz'). Well done. I can imagine this easing you down a bit after the strain of recording the real thing.

That would make me too nervous, again. :)
