Here is Aaron Copland’s “Four Piano Blues”. The dates of the four pieces are 1947, 1934, 1948, and 1926 respectively. I like number 3 best. Or maybe number 4. This one has a neat rhythm to it, and don’t say that I am adding pauses, because on the second page there are a few measures where Copland added two extra eighth rests. I think they are all cool little pieces.

Copland - Four Piano Blues, No. 1 "Freely poetic"
Copland - Four Piano Blues, No. 2 "Soft and languid"
Copland - Four Piano Blues, No. 3 "Muted and sensuous"
Copland - Four Piano Blues, No. 4 "With bounce"

OHMYGOSH I've got too much to listen to ... nicely done Mon. I got to feelin' a little sexy during the third one, but that may be cause it's been a while  nah, we'll blame it on the sexy playing. The fourth was my favorite I think ... very convincing IMO.

Hey, pretty cool music :). I have no experience with it but it sounds like to make it justice. Well done!

Not cool measured by today's youth or groove etc. But cool as a collision of black blues and white classical music. I think he hit the spot well there.

Very well done. Must be great if you can pick up a set of new pieces and have them perfectly on the site within a week. I have not heard these since I briefly tried them out long ago, and now realize why I gave up on them. Not vintage Copland IMO, for all the nice sounds they sound a bit doodling and repetitive.

To each his own, but thanks anyway, Chris. Still, many pieces have repeating sections, so I don't know what the big deal is here.

Like you don't know anything about that!

Which reminds me - I wonder where those two Granados pieces are.

Stuck in a big pipeline together with a lot of other things. One day they'll come out all of a sudden. But the mills are grinding slowly these days...

Never heard these before. Funny pieces - they only work when you are in the right mood. Very well done! My favourite is no 2. Great sense of humour you have captured there!

Thank you, Joachim. The mood thing - I think that is true with any type of music. I play or listen to different kinds depending on what I'm doing at the time, who I am going to be with and what mood I want to create.

I think, you are right with this. For the youth of today we should write a Hip-hop or Rap-arrangement of these pieces. I know this, because I´m teacher at a high-school.

Nevertheless it was inspiring and interesting to listen to the pieces. I did not know them before and never heard any piece of Copland. So, I can´t give a critical comment (I haven´t the score), but I think, it was very nice played.
    I favorize nr. 4.
