I'm looking for a nice short piece that one could orchestrate for entire Orchestra, it's for a college colleague of mine who's having a little trouble choosing a piece to orchestrate (I chose Rodolfo Halffter's Bagatela in B flat!). Does anyone have any good pieces, it's for his final exam! Thanks in advance!

I would suggest one or Bartok's many short folksy pieces. Think of the Little Suite, Easy Pieces, or For Children. Lots of great tunes here that are just waiting to be orchestrated.

Hmm, thanks for the recommendation Mr. Breemer! I'll give those a look, and send him these recommendations!

I think of some of Mendelssohn's Songs without Words might have some good things, too.
