Schutz, Michael

Michael Schütz, born in 1963, is a lecturer on modern music and works freelance as a composer, arranger, pianist, producer, keyboarder, and offers seminars.

After his church music studies at the University in Esslingen, where he finished in 1991 with the A-Exam, he was instructor for musical and cultural education in Stuttgart. Since 1998, he has been giving lectures on modern music at a university in Tübingen, and also at the Bundesakademie Trossingen.

Numerous live-concerts, television appearances and productions in the studio brought Michael together with international artists;  among them  Gloria Gaynor, Klaus Doldinger's Passport, The Temptations, Chaka Khan, Xavier Naidoo, Jennifer Rush, Deborah Sasson, Umberto Tozzi, Tony Christie, Toto Cutugno, Ingrid Peters, German Brass, Pe Werner, Cae Gauntt, Helmut Jost, Dieter Reith and the SWR Big Band.

He composed the music to the spectacle "Faust II" from Goethe, for the musical theatre "Petrus", and also created cabaret programs and arrangements for other musicals.

With sona nova - a Crossover-Duo along with his wife Christina – Michael performed in February 2007 at Carnegie Hall New York playing just his own compositions (www.sonanova.de).

Since 2007, he regularly gives piano concerts with programs in feature-length.
