I have just run the statistics scripts for January 2007 and we had an enormous increase again! Over 1,600,000 hits (about 1,000,000 last month and about 600,000 the month before that) on the main page and over 450,000 downloads of music and over 160,000 downloaded sheets proves the huge interest of classical music and this site. I want to thank all of you members to your contribution.

On the main page, I have just published the new pianists of January, the most popular pianists and composers and will continue to do so for each month and keep track of it in this thread.

Yesterday evening, I made the statistics for February and it is about the same as for previous month but we have raise the number of downloads of recordings. We had 1,520,030 hits on the main site, 555,124 downloads of recordings, 158,299 downloaded sheets and 18 of our pianists submitted 148 recordings to the site.

New pianist for the month are presented on the main page along with top 10 lists of most popular pianists and composers of the site. Setrak found his way into the top 10 list of pianists (that was kind of expected) and Tom Pascale climbed higher, now on third place. But nobody can beat Chris ;).

Not sure if any of you have noticed but we now have 100 Mbit/s unrestricted use so downloading should be really fast and I have just payed the invoice for the next coming year. This is the first time in history for Piano Society where the "income" actually covered the costs! I am very happy about that and there was also some money over which I moved over to next donation round. Thank you all!

Just wait...just wait....muahaha

On a serious side, I believe that we should be thanking you. Not the other way around.

Well, we have Setrak now. I guess he's not done yet.

And I am going to cut down on output volume as I no longer want to produce tons of crap recordings. Better one good one than 10 imperfect. So I will probably drop down in the charts and so it should be. Let the best win

March statistics is done and on the front page. Chris is still in the lead but Setrakian is getting closer. Most suprising was that Joffrey was in second place but the reason is that someone running iTunes forgot the computer on and looped the same recording over and over again ;).

Anyway, we have more than 1,700,000 hits on the main page which is a new record and 112 new recordings from 15 pianist (4 of them new to Piano Society) during March is not bad at all.

I also filled some gaps for missing sheets.

Hey!

In April, we had over 2,000,000 hits on the main site, 800,000 downloads of mp3, 222,000 downloads of sheets, 25,000 downloaded videos and 138 new recordings!

We need more bandwidth! :P

I put the June statistics on the site yesterday. Nothing really exciting but for that the overall number of downloads and hits on the site has gone down quite a lot. The reason is my limiting script which blocks abuse of the site. With abuse, I mean people who tries to run wget (download the entire site), continuously stream a large number of recordings or loop the same recordings over and over again. I had to add this restriction to not get too high bandwidth costs. And I am sorry Monica, you are on the 11th place as most popular pianist. You take back your top 10 position next month right! ;)

July statistics is finished and you can have a look at it from the main page. Monica, you are well within top 10 this time and we have Wui-Ming Gan there for the first time. Both Pascale and Bisotti has now passed me and Chris is the ever leading pianist.

The most interesting thing is that we have about 2.8 Million its on the the main page which is a new record.

Is it my computer? The day to day statistics are not changing on mine.
Also, I have a question: On my computer, files I have clicked on become highlighted in red on the stats page and don't seem to ever go back to blue. Is there a way to manually take off the red and make those files blue again?
