To Brahms and Tchaikovsky - born on the same day May 7th seven years apart.
I just read an article about them - most of it is about how Tchaikovsky felt about Brahms. Grieg makes a little appearance in the article too.

Thanks, Monica.
I really like Brahms' music, and this does not increase my love for Tchaikovsky. I'll go on recording his opus 72, but maybe I'll try to play it as Brahms-like as I can just to annoy his ghost. :twisted:

Monica,

This is a very interesting article. It seems there are many cases in history where the greats met eachother (some friends, others respectful but not intrested in the others music).

I remember reading that Granados (or was it someone else? I forget) heard Cervantes playing from the street and complimented him, never having met him before! Cool to hear these stories!
