Hi,
after quite a lot of work and trouble I´m back with a further step to the completion of Well-tempered Clavier, book II, by Johann Sebastian Bach. Up to this moment I have recorded all preludes and fugues from c-major to g-minor in chromatic order.
The prelude is in the style of a French Ouverture (so I play it in double dotted rhythm). The fugue has a quite long subject with some nice and insistend tone repetitions. For me both, prelude and fugue, are quite contemplative and this "pair" is more of the "serious" ones. Like nearly in all of Bachs secular music one feels the religious sense also here in these pieces. (That´s just my personal feeling.)
I have decided to put prelude and fugue into one video and I will do that also in future, since they join together and built a unity.

Excellent playing, and a noble conception of this pair. Having so recently recorded this myself, this is interesting to hear. I find the prelude a bit too slow (though mine is probably too quick) and IMO the prelude is more interesting when the dotted note values are observed exactly as written. The fugue is very nicely done, I like this calmer rendition whereas I always make a breathless romp of this fugue

My only objective quibble is in bar 13 of the prelude, where you play A-flat instead of A. I bet you did that on purpose, like a Persian carpet weaver who will deliberately insert a small error to point out that nothing and nobody is perfect.

Oh, got another quibble: can you please observe the naming and tagging rules ? There's a posting in the announcement forum. or you can look at recent existing recordings on the site (mine, in this case) and copy the name and tags.

Yes ! Files must be perfectly named and tagged before they can go up.

Getting better. But please, as per the fine documentation:

- No capital letters in filename (on Linux, that does matter)
- Only the composer's Last Name in the title

It's just a matter of reading the instructions really. Now all is ok except that the 'Composer' tag should have the last name only (as written in that posting).
But ok, we don't even use that tag so let's leave it at this. Just remember that uploading files with correct names and tags is to save your friendly admins
work and trouble ! As well as making all the automated scripts work properly. This one is on the site now.
