New piano -> New recording settings

Hi, everybody!

I've been very busy on college, so I haven't posted anything here for quite a while.
Nowadays I got a new job, so I decided to spend all my savings in a new piano: this time, a grand piano! \o/

I'm very excited with it, and soon I'll remake some recordings.
But first I'm trying new recording settings. If someone would like to help me choose which of these two sound better, I'd appreciate a lot.
(but please overlook the mistakes. I didn't study the piece, I just played from memory something that has huge dynamic contrasts... =D)

I just discovered that not only I can't upload mp3 files here, but I can't also download them. =\

Hi Luis - I know you asked me to call you Luis before, but I forgot on my last message to you and called you Felipe instead. Sorry, but it's going to be a little hard to remember; I've been calling you Felipe for a long time. I don't think I would even turn around if someone called me by my middle name (which is Lynn) - I'd think they were talking to someone else....

Anyway, I liked the second recording better - the one marked 'teste'. It sounds clearer and more intimate. The first one sounds like the mics are a little too far away and so the piano sounds distant.

What do you mean? You can't download our PS mp3 files? You can when you're at home, though, right?

Yes, exactly! I can't download mp3 files at work.
I can download them when I'm home, but I avoid using the computer when I'm not working. My religion does not allow me... hehe

Hi Luís,

I had a listen to your performance of Rach's famous prelude in g minor. It is spirited and not bad at all, considering your excuses.. :lol:

I prefer the close-mic-ness of "teste." The piano has a wonderful sound.

Thanks a lot! I think the closer set recording won. =D

I have recently made a video of Waldstein 1st movement... I think the Waldstein will be my first remake here on PS.
