Does anyone have a CD of Rubinstein playing Chopin mazurkas? Many times I have gone to that Russian site where you can listen to all of Rubinstein's Chopin mazurkas, but seems they either have a problem, or they changed something. I can't read Russian so I don't know what is going on. Here is the link if you think you can help:

The one I am interested is Op. 59, no.2. I have some of his mazurka recordings but not this one. If someone has a CD, maybe you can burn this one mazurka and send it to me. Pretty please? I'll pay - whatever you want!

In that case, Monica, it's going to cost you big time - a whopping sum of $0! I have the complete Rubinstein Collection of Chopin Mazurkas on LP (EMI, recorded 1938). Rubinstein made 3 recordings of the Mazurkas in 1932/1938, 1950s, and 1965-66 (Stereo). Each set is different which makes it interesting for comparison. Even though the later recordings sound cleaner in stereo, the recordings made in the 1930s have more youth, spontaneity, and brilliance.

Here are the jacket covers. Just let me know which one's you'd like in addition to Op. 59, No. 2, and I'll record them onto CD or send them via e-mail...

Thank you, George. If it's easy for you to do, I would love to have op. 59, no.2 and also all three mazurkas from op. 50.
I've made a little 'package' for you. Check your email.
