Hi! I thought this was a really cool video. Is this based on an actual story or did you spin this yourself? I actually gasped in a couple places and was like, no, oh no! Where did the song come from? I'm guessing you composed it? It supported the story very well IMO

It is something I composed and, although the story is based on the basic cliches of lore, it is an "original" piece of lore, if that is even possible. I composed the piece first, and then I listened to it over and over, and wrote the story piece by piece to fit the music. Thank you very much for your words!

Okay, yeah I was wondering which came first, the story or the song since the transitions between segments of plot/music worked so well together. I figured if it wasn't original it must have been based on something. The way it ended reminded me somewhat of the Austrian legend Sifrit. Some similarities there, only Sifrit was killed by his best friend in a hunting "accident". Ah, maybe I'll go back and read that sometime, I'm getting sentimental now.

I would guess a lot of it is inspired by Beauty and the Beast now that I really think of it...the wolves, the cold, the banishment from the castle, the solitude of the hero, the husband is a kind of "Gaston" character. In this case though, it is the woman who causes the downfall of the hero. If anything, it is sort of a "negative" to the Beauty and the Beast. Similar yet opposite.
Finally, what I wanted to get out of it was a classic perepiteia. In this way, it is more of a tragedy than a modern fairy tale.
Anyways, I've gone ahead and rambled.
