Why on earth are you plugging this ? This Prokofiev is a speed contest, music reduced to rubble for the sake of displaying one's proficiency. This guy needs to learn how to put the music first. If he can find it, that is.

As for his Ravel, that is a bit better but not at all distinguished. Especially in the Oiseaux Tristes he seems blunt an insensitive to me, and heavy-handed in the Vallee des Cloches.

Now,now,you ve got me laughing there,techneut. Although much slower tempo and less pedal would be definitely beneficial, he doesn't have to "learn" anything, but judging from his Prokofiev he could actually "teach" a few things. It is a stunning ,in my sense , and at least absolutely unique recording that deserves to be considered.(Ravel is not his cup of tea and he should re-think his repertoire choices although I found it reminiscent of Ravel's own no-nonsense,straightforward and occasionally rushed ( as in Les Valses nobles et sentimentales ) playing with some interesting sonorities as well as there was this hint of a painful legierezza so typical of early Richter, but,to me once again, those are not good recordings). Definitely a pianist of exceptionnal gift that he might be using not in a right, or at least, a wise way.

And yes,dzinn, de gustibus disputandum EST by all means, since pass the 1840's the pair reception over a given amount of time is what makes an artistic proposal valid or not and stirring up a public controversy is getting a one way ticket to the wastebasket.
