My father would love you! We had VW Beetles all the time when I was growing up. I remember going on family vacations in the summertime; my mom and dad in the front seats, and my sister, brother and I in the back seats. Can you imagine that? There is not that much room back there! And I was the smallest so always had to sit in the middle on the hump. We drove all over the place too. Come to think of it, I'm not sure we even had air-conditioning.
Oh, that´s nice. When I was a child my parents also had VV Beetles all the time. First a gray "Ovali", they were built in the sixties and had a smal oval rear window. (The older ones of the fifties had still the small "pretzel"-window as rear window, but such an old one we ourself even didn´t have any more.) After this "Ovali" we had a green export-modell. This was the modell with a special nice bumper, rear and front. The bumpers had some additional metal bars. I don´t remember that a VW-beetle was ever built with air-condition. I don´t think so. For this it´s nice to have cabriolet.

We, too, drove into vacations with this beetle, sometimes with friends (four or five persons) and all this was possible. Somehow it was always jovial.
Did you live in Germany, when you were a child or did your parents have the beetle in the USA?

How spoiled my own kids are because we drive much larger cars when we go on vacations, and most of the time we don't even drive, but fly and then rent a big luxury car at the airport.
Well, I think, too much luxury isn´t the right thing for children, too.

I'm glad you liked that music. I have a lot of great 'traveling' tunes if you want any more. I listen to them when I jog too. Helps to keep me going....
Yeah, I like this american folk- or western-music. If you like, you could send me more, thank you

(but would this be legal?!

).
