Charles Rosen complained in his book
The Romantic Generation that there is no such thing as a good Chopin edition - that some were better than others, but even Henle left a lot to be desired. So, keeping this sentiment in mind, Peters is, perhaps in an attempt to reestablish itself as a respected editior, making a new Urtext (which I am sure a few of you already know). Available so far are the Preludes, Waltzes, and Ballades, and they are distinguishable on the cover from the regular Peters editions by the red Urtext bar in the upper left hand corner.

Has anyone purchased one (or all) of these volumes yet? I had a glance at one of my prof's books, and it looks to be a very thorough job.
