chicken! and what is a skinny 77 kgs? I hope that is not a typo for 77 legs.

Can't you fix that stats thing? It is such an inaccurate picture. But take your time doing it, so I can enjoy my #2 status a little longer. I'll never be there again.

Oh yeh, I forgot the USA are not metric yet. The conversion to pounds is left as an excercise for the reader :P

The stats thing is doing the right thing. It counts downloads, and has no way to tell to indicate whether they're done by man or machine.

Or perhaps there is... as each line in the access log mentions the user agent. Hm, need to think about that some more. And get off that piano to do some more proramming. Gr.

If anyone think it is interesting in a lot of different statistics, such as which country is accessing this site the most, check this link:
http://pianosociety.com/geolizer/usage_ ... l#TOPCTRYS

And the entire stats (January) for all kind of different things here:
http://pianosociety.com/geolizer/usage_200801.html

Historical a year back:
http://pianosociety.com/geolizer

Raymond, your Rambles video is on the top when it comes to using most bandwidth! Videos are not counted in the normal download statistics but this proves the interest.

That's neat, Robert.
What is the difference between hits per day versus visits per day?

(go USA!)

Hits are the number of each downloaded content from the site. Just visiting the first page will be one for the content in the middle, one for the logo, one for each picture etc. Perhaps just visiting the first page will count as 8-9 hits while visits are the number of unique IP addresses and user agent (browser you use). Number of visit is actually the most interesting figure.

Hello, I don't know if it's an issue you've encountered before, but my name seems to appear twice (with different counts) in the download statistics.

Indeed ! That is weird, can't see why that would happen. Back to debugging that damn program again :x

Looking at these stats - our power downloader has now taken a great fancy to some of my Tchaikovsky items and downloaded them almost 100000 times each  Either that or my stats program has gone totally bonkers. I'll have to check up on that tonight.

I found out why this double entry in the stats happened. I thought I'd fixed it but now I seem to have another problem. The statistics will not be updated until I fix this too. but no more time now, not tomorrow.

Download statistics is still down - it crashes and I haven't found yet why. Difficult to investigate without a debugger so we'll have to wait until the new server is installed. Should not take long, sez Robert.

just thought I'd point out this was still down, in case it had slipped anyone's mind. :)

I said this before, but here goes again in case people wonder about the statistics.

The stats program crashes during execution and therefore the stats are never completed. I have tried to pinpoint the problem but without having a debugger on the server it takes too much time (we're talking processing millions of lines here). I am waiting for Robert to install the new server on which he promised to install a debugger. Then I'll fix it.

We are into discussions with service providers to get a good price/performance ratio. Sorry for taking so long. The new server is already delivered to me and configured. But it is not for certain we will use the same hosting center so I do not wish to make the change until that is set.
