Performance Today usually broadcasts classical music played by professionals (soloists and world-class orchestras). But right now they are also having a program where 'regular' people can also be heard playing a favorite Chopin piece. You are allowed to upload one recording of yourself.

41 1 is my favorite! It has a hint of his waltzes, but still retains the Mazuryk . Thanks for sharing.

wow, that's interesting, JG. I didn't know you had a favorite Mazurka. Op. 41, no.1 is certainly a good one!! I love the exuberance of it.

Unfortunately, when I clicked on "Listen" I received an "Access Forbidden" screen. Don't know if its the "PT" site or the library server thinks that there is something viscious on NPR.

Yes, that link gives an error allright. As will every link from another website directly to an mp3 file on PS.
This is called 'hotlinking' and we (well, Robert, actually) have explicitly disallowed that, because we (well, Robert, actually) believe that people should go to our pages (and, supposedly) read them, instead of jumping directly to the mp3's. So, a link to PS from another website should always be a link to a page, not to an mp3. I guess not many visitors of Performance Today have heard this recording. . .

Now here's the nice thing. You click on that link, and it shows the access error, as well as the URL of the mp3 in the browser's address bar. Now you click your mouse inside the address bar and hit Enter, and voila... the file will be opened. This happens because now the so-called 'referer' is your browser instead of a foreign website, and there's no restriction on a browser opening a mp3 directly.

It's weird, because yesterday when I was doing all this, the link at first didn't work for me either. And then suddenly it did, so I thought 'ok I'm done'. But when Scott said he got the error message, I asked a girlfriend of mine to check it and she also got the error message.

It's all okay now. I talked with someone over there who instructed me to upload my file onto gather.com, which I did. The link now points to that location, although the sound quality dropped quite a lot I think. Probably because I spent an hour uploading/downloading it all over the place in my effort to make things work (I think I wore out the link). Oh well, at least it is there now, which as like I said before, it would be nice to see other PS members there too!

Not so weird. Soon as the file is in your browser's cache it will work. Deleting Internet temporary files would probably make it not work again.
