One of the things I find endearing about Bach is that he was genuinely appreciative of his colleague composers. This Fugue on a theme of Albinoni is thought to be written around 1710. An early work then, from a period when Bach still had to find his own distinctive voice, and liked to juxtapose the stile antico with the style fantastico. I hope I've made the most of it even if it's not perfect as uaual.

Bach - BWV 950 - Fugue in A Major, on a Theme of Albinoni (5:30)

My first time hearing this piece. Very enjoyable. I like what you did with the off-beat accents!
I suppose after finishing the wtk you are now casting about for more fugues? Fugue withdrawal?

Thanks Heather !
Fugue withdrawal, haha, not likely. It's about time to start re-recording the WTC  Apart from that I got the Art of Fugue to complete, and Shostakovich. Op.87 set which I started on years ago but stalled halfway.

Chris,
Very good, very "snappy" on the ornaments, and the phrasing always goes somewhere, which makes it enjoyable listening.
I had never heard of this work, so thanks for that, too.

Thank you Stu ! Good to hear some more people besides me like this. You don't hear the "other" Bach fugues that often.
