Here's is an interesting vid on recording the piano. The intro to the video is annoying and so is the end, but everything else in the middle is worth watching! I wish I could afford all of those expensive mics, plus a grand. I can't for now, but perhaps if my studio grows, I will be able to in the future.

It's mildly interesting but so rudimentary that is seems not very useful. I wish they'd recorded the same piece with all setups so one could compare, and I wish they'd commented on how the different setups differ and which one to choose.

I'd love to have a decent way of recording my piano, even if it's just for my own enjoyment/interpretive work. Are there any good options in the 50-200 dollar price range?

Could anyone please recommend voice-editting software that can create a grand piano effect? I am using Upright piano and the sound is not 'grand' enough. Any software can manipulate the voice to grand piano texture? Thank you!
