Concert pianist Eliane Lust specializes in bringing together the classical and modern piano repertoires. Her uncommon artistic range, musical versatility and the compelling immediacy of her interpretations invite listeners to distinctive and original concert experiences. Both classical music's most distinguished traditional musicians and contemporary composers hold her work in high esteem, considering her to be a performer of rare imagination, sensibility, and command.
A veteran performer and critically acclaimed throughout the world, Lust has been the recipient of such prestigious awards as solo recital placement at the Paderewski Festival, the Villa Montalvo Discovery Series, the Clairmont Piano Series, Maybeck Recital Hall, Carnegie Recital Hall and the Lagesse Foundation. The California Arts Council Touring Roster has also given her additional award recognition for her innovative programming and dedication to new American music. Eliane's recital and master class tours throughout North America, Europe and French Polynesia have included the Tanglewood, Aspen, Banff-Canada, Ernen-Musikdorf, Hereford-UK and Spoleto-Italy Music Festivals.
Lusts educational pedigree remains one of the most impressive available today. Her primary musical influences, Gyorgy Sebök and Leonard Shure mark her musical lineage directly to Beethoven through Artur Schnabel. Other important influences include the pianist Richard Goode, American composers Frederick Rzewski and Charles Shere, and Schnabels biographer, Konrad Wolff, whose piano she owns and works on. A notoriously inspiring coach, Lust is based in both California and France where she holds monthly master classes for highly dedicated musicians.
Lusts unique discography also spans the range of old to new piano music and consists solely of her live performances, including Merge: works of Beethoven and Bartok, Lude: the 24 Chopin Preludes with Frederick Rzewskis 24 Ludes and the complete Mendelssohn Songs Without Words. This seasons recording releases include concert performances of Rock: a compilation of 3 centuries of lullabies and boat songs, La Valse Française, The Speaking Pianist (solo repertoire for a pianist who speaks while playing) and the complete Chopin Nocturnes for piano.Interact
