Alfonso started theory and piano lessons at six and continued studying music privately until late teens. Being always an ardent pianophile, as a listener Alfonso kept on expanding his knowledge of the piano repertoire through the years.

He casually returned to the piano after a long hiatus, when a singer friend of him was in need of an accompanist for a "Liederabend". Since then Alfonso kept practicing and later found in PianoSociety a stimulating environment to learn and record new pieces for the community and the website. He is especially fond of Bach, Schumann, Brahms and the luscious harmonies and thick textures of the late romantic repertoire.

Alfonso lives in Piemonte, Italy, at a short distance from his beloved Western Alps.
