"Music is a right, but only for those who deserve it"

"It is not a profession to be a pianist and musician. It is a philosophy, a conception of life that cannot be based on good intentions or natural talent. First and foremost there must be a spirit of sacrifice."

~Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli

Hi dear Listener,

It is a pleasure to introduce you to my recordings. I am an Italian concert pianist. I've studied with great teachers such as Aldo Ciccolini and have won prizes in past piano competitions. I've also worked for many months with great Italian actors in theatres in Italy. But I don't want to waste your time speaking about my curriculum, filling this page with prizes, teachers and phrases told about me.. How many times do we read about that pianist that is a winner, so acclaimed etc.. But this time Nuccio hopes that his music speaks for him and is not interested in annoying you with his goals. A different approach with this pianist...

On February 2007 I decided to stop giving concerts out of respect for myself. You know that there are a lot of musicians that play often for free and these situations are very sad. So now I work only for myself to record and upload pieces hoping to find an agency/promoter who is seriously interested to me and wants to engage me for concerts.

This is for my surviving.

Thanks for your time. I hope that you like my pianism. It is my life.

Write me any question and contact me for concerts here, via Youtube, Skype or myspace.

Sincerely yours,

Nuccio Trotta

"Per me la musica rappresenta un viaggio al centro di me stesso che terminerà solo il mio ultimo giorno. La musica ci spoglia delle nostre meschinità facendoci apparire dinanzi a Lei nudi e puri. È un nostro dovere primario smettere vanità e qualsivoglia forma di pavoneggiamento quando ci accostiamo a Lei. Così solo speriamo di poter esserLe degni.
Perché non si debba strumentalizzare la musica ma noi diventare soltanto suo oggetto e messaggeri.

~Nuccio Trotta
