Hotaik Tommy Sung is currently a student of Thomas Schultz from Stanford University. In the past, he has studied with Mack McCray and Jonathan Jou.
Hotaik Tommy Sung has received numerous awards in piano performance, including the grand prize (Christine Piper Plumb Award) and first place in his division at MTAC Piano Solo Competition in 2005. He is also a recipient of first place in International Russian Music Competition, third place in Viardo International Competition, winner prize in Young Pianist’s Beethoven Competition, first place in Chinese Music Teacher’s Association of Northern California (CMTANC) Youth Competition, first place in the Sylvia Ghiglieri Piano competition, and, more recently, Blew-Culley-Lafollette prize for piano performance from the Stanford Department of Music.
He also performed in four full-length solo recitals and participated in master classes by Charles Rosen, Rueibin Chen, and Craig Sheppard.
Hotaik Tommy Sung currently pursues a double degree in Biology and Music as a sophomore in Stanford University.
